My neighbor had a baby yesterday. (SQUEE!)
She pushed for 45 minutes.
When I had a baby I pushed for 4 minutes.
If you’ve had a baby, how long did you push?
If you’ve adopted, how long did you have to wait between the birth and to being able to hold your baby?
If you’ve never had a baby and want to know how I got away with only pushing for 4 minutes, it’s because there is a God, and He loves me.
Yeah, it has nothing to do with hot. But given there are thousands of babies born everyday I’m just wondering how long it took most of them to get here.
I pushed for three hours, after being awake for three days. It was not fun.

Baby 1: 10 hours of labor, 45 minutes pushing. The epidural made it all quite easy.
Babies 2 & 3: 5 hours labor, and then they sliced me open to yank them out, no pushing needed.
I preferred the pushing.

Hmm, I don’t remember exactly, but I believe with my daughter, I only pushed about 10 minutes, after 8 hours of (induced) labor. And with my son, I know I pushed no more than 5 minutes after 1 hour and 23 minutes of (non-induced) labor. I’m kind of scared with baby number 3.

I don’t know exactly how long it was timewise- but my guess is well under 10 minutes both times.
When I hit transition the babies were born within 20 minutes- like 6cm to delivered BAM.
Seemed long at the time lol- but really, it was very fast.

The Papoosekin was out after only 19 minutes of pushing. Soooo many women have cursed me for that, so I always thought it was really short for a first child. I need to point all those women here! Seems there are plenty of women who were lightning quicker than me, including you!

I’m almost embarrased at how easy labor and delivery of my son were. The timeline:
6:15 pm: water broke
4 am: labor induced
7 am: epidural placed
7:01 am: fell asleep
10 am: woke up, at 10 cm dilated, and fully effaced
10:30 started pushing
11:00 told to stop pushing because the doctor wasn’t there yet
11:15 Doctor is ready
11:18 DS is born
So, I slept through labor, only pushed about 30 minutes, waited another 15, and out he came!

1 hour and 46 minutes of pushing for three “ten counts” during every single contraction… but my epidural hadn’t worked and I was in tremendous pain, so it felt A LOT longer. I’m hoping it’s a little easier next time around. Four minutes might be asking too much, but I’d settle for an hour or less!

I was in induced labor (due to very high blood pressure) for 28 hours and only dilated to 3cm so they told me they were preparing the OR for a c-section. 45 minutes later when they came to take me to the O.R. I was at 9 1/2 cm so they said oh great you can start pushing soon. In total there was 36 hours of labor followed by 3 1/2 hours of pushing. Finally they brought in a Dr. and the vacuum when the Mid Wife decided the baby was sunny side up. I ended up with a 4th degree tear and the most beautiful little girl ever. I am just over two months along with #2 and I hope this birth goes a little easier, 4 minutes would be lovely
