Today at 6:23 p.m. EST you turned six years old.
To be honest, the day could have ended better.
Thankfully, there are pictures that tell the story of a good day.
A story of balloons, sunshine, pancakes, pink cake and a little girl who received every gift her little heart could have ever dreamed of.
Hopefully these pictures will overshadow the grumpy ugliness and tears that ended the day. And next year you will look back at this year as your best birthday ever and you will go to sleep in anticipation on December 13, 2011 wondering how in the world your seventh birthday could ever outdo your sixth.
Until then, I love you, my beautiful, strong willed and spirited little daughter.

Huh…I don’t know where she gets that “spirited” stuff.
Happy birthday to my future daughter-in-law!

They won’t remember the grumpy. Only the mommies might remember the grumpy.

It’s not a birthday if they don’t have a meltdown! haha. my mother calls it “post event letdown” when they freak out at the end.

Happy Birthday to Addie!! Love the picture where she’s hugging that DS for dear life. Girl knows what to ask for, man. She’s going to want an iPad next year; that, or a car.

Yeah, we have days like that too, and to be honest, I’m more than a little worried about Christmas Day because there are things her little brother is getting that she isn’t, and while rationally that’s the way things should be, she often has trouble dealing with the fact that some things just aren’t hers.
That, plus all the excitement and anticipation and the partying means one overtired girl who could very well destroy Christmas if she set her mind to it.

Hey Casey,
I had this epiphany about you that you may have already realized yourself but I thought I’d tell you about it anyway. Remember when you changed your diet because of gluten. Maybe that is the reason you couldn’t get pregnant. It is one of the symptoms of cleiacs disease. I know you said you don’t have celiac but more of a sensitivity BUT maybe that was what made all the difference! I hope so, then getting pregnant wont be a big deal next time…if there is a next time:)

My grandmother used to say “it’s not how you feel, it’s how you look”. This looks like a girl who had a great day… so she did!
