the next generation.

So I wrote this post last year about where I’ve been as a result of what I do here on this little blog of mine.

Mindblowing.

But this last Saturday took the cake, made it gluten free, shoved it in my face AND it was calorie free.

What? What was I doing down there!?

I was taking this picture…

Danica Patrick.

Dude. I know. I don’t even care if you’re a race fan or not. At this point if you know any racers name you should know Danica’s. (And yes, I was there when she was booed. *sigh*)

In other news.

My kid graduated from Preschool. Which is really, well, probably not that important to you, girl rocked the Preschool and is ready to move on to Kindergarten. But here’s the thing. This photo hits me in all those tender mom places…you know the ones.  Because right now it’s preschool.

Next it will be college.

college graduation. six years ago. (freshly pregnant too...)

Right now it’s preschool picnic parties.

Next it will be parties with her friends in Union Square.

LOOOVE

I must say, I couldn’t be more proud of the little kid and lady she is becoming. I see so much of myself in her. I have all these hopes that she’ll be able to have the opportunities that I’ve had, the friends that I’ve made and a hunky husband to go along with it.

  1. While I’m not a fan of Danica, I’m an Indy Car fan. And, also, very jealous of you being so close to an actual Indy Car. I’ll be watching The Race from Florida this year. Will you be at IMS on race day?

  2. First off, GORGEOUS picture of Danica!

Second: Your daughter looks SO MUCH like you! So absolutely GORGEOUS, both of you.

Third: these pictures are seriously making me miss home (I’m from Indiana ;)). So glad to be going back in 2 weeks 😉

  3. SO jealous. I have always wanted to go to that track for any kind of race. I almost did once, but my company dropped our sponsorship before it got there. Been to many others.

I also think pole day sounds like a totally different kind of competition.

  4. This is the first time in years I’m missing all the race festivities… which totally makes me mourn the loss of my farmer’s tan. Not that I would ever have such a thing. But I might have a few years ago.

    Congrats to the preschool graduate!

  5. That’s awesome that you got to photograph so close to the track like that. (Also: great photo.)

And congratulations to your graduate… I know exactly what you mean about seeing the “real” ones when they do these pretend ones.

  6. I thought that was you I saw racing past the pagoda, camera in hand! There’s no place like the pits for some great photos!

  7. Mine will be in third grade next year. I don’t know how it happened. I turned my back a few seconds ago and he was the same age as the Moosh. Congratulations, Graduate!

  8. Oh how I adore May in Indy… At the race track! I’m so jealous… But grateful I can live vicariously through your pictures/tweets/posts.

As for pre-school graduation, that’s so exciting! Congratulations!
