Wow – what a smokin’ deal! Congratulations on your new house. You’ll have to show us the after painting pictures. It’ll be like our own little blog version of HGTV. :>

We move July 17th, and let me just tell you, the paint disaster we’re facing? WORSE. Oh, yes, it is. In good time I will share the joys of buying a home that someone else couldn’t afford to finish painting. Half blood red walls? We haz them.

Hooray! I’m so glad you’ve found a place to call home! You’ve worked so hard for this! As for the red & blue decor upstairs, I can only apply typical Hoosier logic and say that the former owners wanted to show their allegiance to IU as well as the Colts…this explains but does not justify the behavior, haha. Every time I run through the connecting neighborhoods of my parents’ IN home, I see that very same natural view…and miss it. Can’t wait to see how you put the Casey touch on it! (Oh, and if you’re looking for tile ideas, I can send you to my dad). Your readership expects an invite to the housewarming!

Ok, I am in Avon, 4 bedrooms, big yard… 5oo less square feet, WAY HIGHER PRICE! Then again… no pastel walls and opposites attract floor boards. Then again… for 110… I’d paint too!

Oh, I wish!!! (We’re still stuck in the “we must sell our duplex before buying a new house” holding pattern. BOO.)
I had a pro graphic desginer friend help me pick out the paint for our current dining room – “Clay Pebble” from Behr. Its an AWESOME greenish color without being too “green-y” in case you’re looking for a great color. 😉

Ok, under $110K???? Where do you live again? We couldn’t even get a garage here for that money – thus we overpay for a small apartment. The house looks fab, and I could totally fly over and bunk in that two tone room (wth were they thinking) and paint it for you 🙂
Ps. Lovin’ the dolphin and xmas tree

I am beyond jealous. Under 110K? In my area there is NOTHING under 110K. It doesn’t exist. Well, let me take that back. In the past 6 months, about 10 properties under 110K have come up for sale. All of them are about 800-1000 square feet, built in 1895-1910 (meaning they’re old/deteriorating, not classic/historical).

One of my favorite colors is Sherwin Williams’ Copen (or it may be Copel) Blue. It’s a really nice, soft color that’s not too blue; it has some nice undertones to it. Nothing frilly at all.
It’s particular pretty when paired with a black and white toile or damask pattern (for drapes or a shower curtain or bedspread, etc).
Congratulations!
