  2. That house is BEAUTIFUL! YAY!!! (Um, well, yeah. Except for the paint. But you already knew that… WHO exactly thinks that red and blue with matching alternating trim colors is a GOOD idea? WHO???)

  3. Under $110K? Are you serious? We’re looking for a new house right now and will have to spend around $275K for one just a bit bigger than yours! Indiana, here we come!

  4. Yay for you!!! Congrats woman. That paint… I’m sorry. We just repainted our house. We did kind of an avacado-ish green and dark chocolate brown (which I’m not gonna lie, sometimes makes me want to lick my walls) in the living room, and a banana type yellow in the kitchen and down the hall. I love it. Good luck in the new casa!

  5. It looks incredible, crazy paint colors and all. Congratulations!!! I’d move in a heart beat if it were anywhere near NYC.
Ah nature… I wake up to pounding neighbors, garbage taken out at midnight, dog owners walking their barking dogs and a ton of traffic on 1st Ave. Ah nature!

  6. Congratulations, Casey! The space, the nature, the possibilities! Picking out paint colors is my all time favorite home improvement projects. Have fun – and make you stock up on the primer. I think you’re going to need it for those red and blue walls. Yikes.

  7. It looks so lovely, besides the colors which look like jello. Upstairs, that’s cherry and blue raspberry. Downstairs is the anemic orange they give you in the hospital.

We’re in Chicagoland and the home values down there are almost enough to make me want to move to Indy. ;o)

    Congratulations!!!

  8. I’m so envious I can barely type. My husband is upstairs packing our bags so we can get the heck out of California. We’ll be your neighbors!

Take heart though, when we bought this house there were no less than nine different bold pain colors on the walls. They’re all GONE.

  9. So not fair. For a bit less than my down payment, you’ve gone and bought an entire house exactly (give or take 4 sq feet) TWICE the size of mine.

Oh, Los Angeles, how I hate you sometimes.

I will get over my jealousy however to tell you that your house? Looks AMAZING! And while painting SUCKS (which I can say with authority having painted the interior of my entire house a couple months back – it was full of peach walls too for some reason?) it will make things look SO much better than you even can imagine it might.

I wish I could come help you paint…it is going to be a pain in the @$$ to paint over that red…oi…I can’t wait to see it in real life. I wish I could move down the street, would in a heartbeat! 11. Um, that is a seriously nice first home there chika!

My home had the baseboards painted crazy colors too. I spent a LOT of time carefully painting them back to a normal trim color!

    Congrats! It is beautiful!!

  13. Wow!!! As someone who is ACTIVELY trying to sell her house, I can not BELIEVE anyone would have those colors in a house they were trying to sell. Egads! But, wow what a steal–2900 sq. ft for under 110k?? The house looks fabulous (well you know once you get rid of the um, questionable color choices). Congratulations!!!!!!!

  14. Totally awesome, my friend, totally! I say go for a bold punch of color here and there, but over all neutrals. I know,I am so very helpful. If I knew hubs would move & we could sell our house I would so be there. All you had to say was “moosh bakes and less than 110K”

  15. Casey, it’s gorgeous! GORGEOUS!! I am in awe of the space and openness and lighting and YARD and NATURE!

My first house had hot pink, fuschia, burgundy, blue, navy, olive, yellow and wood walls.
fer realz. All sort of mixed in together in random rooms. It hurt to walk in there.

I found a cafe’ au lait kindd of color that I loved and painted in most rooms, pale yellow in bebe room, butter in bathroom etc….

    GWAGEOUS!! cannot wait!! YIPPPEEEEE

  16. We love our house that backs up to Indiana nature too! The red walls are the only barable ones. What were these people thinking?

  17. I would buy it for that. Here in Western Washington it would cost $300-$400K for a place like that. I’m so jealous.
