The Tribute to Our Madeline from Mike and Heather on Vimeo.

(11 minutes of sob.)

Thank you to the Spohr and Buchanan family for letting me help you. It was an honor to be in your presence, I have learned much from your generosity, courage and loving support. Part of my heart will always belong to you.

(Yes, there are more pictures, while I took them (and loved that they allowed me the opportunity) they are their photos. So no pestering. Just watch the video again if you must. Or read their tributes. Okay? Thanks.)

  1. An hour ago, i wept at this picture. This very second, i am listening to you sleep. And I want you to know, to really KNOW, what you did today. For all of us. I’ll never say it to your face, because I can’t, but I can say it here.

Thank you, Casey. All my love, baby. All of it.

  3. So beautiful. Heather and Mike’s tributes were so touching. Haven’t been able to bring myself to watch the video just yet, but I will. They are so lucky to have friends like you in their lives. Keeping you all in my prayers.

  4. Thank you Casey! The shot of the balloons is gorgeous.

The Little Imp is the only one in our family to have gotten through the entire family. I sat with her in my lap and just bawled into her curls.

I wish I didn’t know the kind of pain Mike and Heather are in…alas, I do. My heart breaks for them, a million times over.

  5. I cannot watch the video as my kids and husband are in the same room and will likely think I am insane (or moreso than usual). But just the opening picture breaks my heart. In times like that I wish I had the faith that others do, because I just don’t understand.

  7. People are actually bothering you for pictures you took at the service? Yikes! You’re a great friend and picture of the balloon release is perfect. How wonderful to see how many people loved that little girl (and that’s just a small portion of what was released all over).

  8. That beautiful video showed that she had to have been the happiest baby of all time. It seemed that she had more joy in her short little lifetime than most have in their long long life.

  10. I met Maddie through your website the day you shared the fact that she had passed. I haven’t been able to get her out of my mind since. What a beautiful, captivating child. My heart is broken for everyone who loves her. Her parents are certainly lucky to have a friend like you. And to think, you met through blogging! It has to make you believe that some friendships are just meant to be! All the beautiful words, photos, and videos are an incredible tribute to her. Thank you for sharing her life with us.

  11. I watched that video yesterday on Heather’s blog. And balwed. At work. I had to excuse myself and hide in the handicapped washroom for half an hour until I could hold it together.
You are a good and true friend. They are lucky to have you in their lives.
