Heather, Meghan and I all met up in Santa Barbara for the moosh’s first view of the ocean.

She even touched it.

She didn’t like it.

But she touched it.

I saw a hobo (insert inappropriate description of “self pleasure” here).

I also saw a “lady of the night.” Or as another trolly passenger put it “I’m pretty sure she’s a lady of any hour for the right price.”

Needless to say, the unfound small town Midwest Hoosier girl inside me came screaming to the surface.

Small town Midwest Hoosier Prude?

PRESENT!

  1. I grew up in a town 1 hour north of Santa Barbara, and you are truly making me homesick with those photos. I LOVE that town. Freebird’s has awesome burritos and Woody’s has great barbeque. Oh, and State Street is great fun, and don’t forget the zoo! Ugh, yes, I really am homesick.

  2. First, great pictures as always.

Your pic of the Moosh looking out at the ocean reminded me of some of my own similar shots of our daughter’s first trip to the Pacific. It also happened to be her papa’s first time, too. I think that was probably the best day, ever.

Thanks for reminding me of it!

P.S. Oh, we Hoosier girls aren’t prudes… we’re just CLASSY!

  3. What? No pics of the wild life?

I remember taking my stepdaughter to the Disney theater where the orchestra plays and it is modern and gorgeous and interesting architecturally… and all she saw was the dude under the bench and I had to sit there and explain to her why he was camping in the city and without his tent. Good times.

  4. Casey – you are officially only about 2 1/2 hours west of me! If you come through Bakersfield, shoot me an e-mail and I treat you and the Moosh to something yummy!

  5. I love the Moosh’s little plumber butt in the last picture. So cute!

Isn’t Santa Barbara gorgeous? My aunt lives there. Did you go up to the Mission? Beautiful views from there.

  6. Ha…well, aside from the less than stellar aspects of Santa Barbara, I hope you and The Moosh enjoyed your quick trip up here! I know Dylan did! He still talks about her…and he’s still VERY concerned about why she didn’t like the water! Well have to try again one day!
