Hot: Day 17-Blog Indiana

So I’ve been at this local blogging conference for the last two days. Bunches of bloggers from Indiana hanging out eating cookies. In fact, it’s a lot like BlogHer.

No, wait. It’s nothing like BlogHer.

First of all, a majority of the people here? Dudes.

Second of all? No dancing.

Third? Ever been the only mommyblogger in a room full of not mommybloggers? My guess is that this is how the smelly kid in class feels.  No one really wants to tell me I smell either. No one ever wants to be the one to tell the smelly kid they smell.

Bummer.

The weather here has been AMAZING.

Dear Indiana,

This weather? Freaking fantastic. Thanks bunches.

xoxo-Casey

So is everyone else’s weather delicious or did we steal it all? Is it too hot were you are? Too cold where you are? It’s so perfect here the desire to lie naked on a rock like a lizard is almost overwhelming.

Almost.

  1. It has been gorgeous up here in the Chicago area. I’m loving it!!! My birthday is in August and I always associate the time immediately before and after my big day with the most disgustingly hot part of the yar. But not this year. This is as close to perfect as I can imagine.

  2. Yes, like Jill, we’ve been enjoying the lovely weather in the far north ‘burbs of Chicago (or the way-south burbs of Milwaukee…depending on who’s talkin’). We went to the beach and have even dined outside. And it’s nice, because from November to APRIL (not kidding…hullo…April is supposed to be a spring-y month, but not here), we wear winter coats.

  3. Blech. Me? Naked in public? Not pretty. Thank you to my two babies for those lovely stretch marks that make being naked or wearing a bikini a sight of hideousness.

The weather here? Is quite comparable to a dry sauna. It is HOT. I yearn for winter, although when it finally hits, I’ll be yearning for the time that I was sweating all day while my snot freezes as I walk through the mile-high snow drifts

  5. We’re in Amarillo now but this weekend we visited near Tulsa, OK and seriously it was more humid than I’d felt in years. I (heart) living in a not humid area!

  6. It was great meeting you this weekend — your blog is great. I read through about 10 pages of archives last night while watching the Olympics and really enjoyed reading it. I’ll definitely be subscribing now. 🙂

  7. I felt kind of the same way about being a non-fine-dining food blogger… And the dude element – well, is there a good way to incorporate period talk into a food blog? It might get all that rubbed-off testosterone out of my system.

It was great to meet you after reading your blog.

  8. I don’t think you were the only mommyblogger. The others were just super shy and intimidated by the bun on your head.

You should have had a lightsaber though.

  9. I’m glad that the weather there is soo nice, because I know how nice it can be there. I also am extremely jealous… it is so hot here. I had recess duty on Friday and that 15 minutes about melted me!

  10. Physiologically, I can’t be a mommyblogger, but I *can* be a daddyblogger, which is what I attempt to do.

Thanks so much for participating in BlogIndiana 2008. We’re really happy you attended and look forward to seeing you in 2009!

  11. It’s been pretty nice lately considering it’s New York City. And by “nice,” I mean the air feels like jello and not pudding. But then again, I’m from Colorado, and any altitude below 5,000 feet feels like a tub of yucky. But eighty degrees in August? I’ll take that and run with it.

  12. Hi Casey, it was great meeting you at the conference this weekend. I had a lot of fun meeting many Indy Bloggers. Let me know if you are aware of any local blogger meet ups in the area.

And yes this weather RAWKS! I love being able to go out for a run any time of the day.
