Hot: Day 10-Indiana State Fair

Remember when we went to the Indiana State Fair last year?

This year only solidified my love for the fair.
I really do.
barf.
wow.
really?
new!
mmm.
keep it coming.

I love, LOVE the Indiana State Fair. Love. Not even kidding. Love.

(And it wasn’t even that hot this year, thanks for a fairly mild summer Indiana, seriously, thanks.)

  1. I literally grew up at this State Fair…literally. So your photos are making me a little homesick (though not for the FOOD featured)! My father was working there the day I was born. No kidding — he received a police escort to the hospital! Someone in my family has had an exhibit, job, or other capacity with the state fair over the course of the past four decades. Lots of memories…and the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

  2. Maybe it’s being British, living in England so never experiencing the delights of a State fair, but the very idea of deep fried snacks makes me want to jump on my wii fit and stay there for the afternoon to burn off the calories even the THOUGHT of eating those has added to my hips!

  3. This makes me reminiscent of bubbagump shrimp.

Apparently you can fry just about anything. Deep fried pepsi might be awful, but deep fried dr pepper might be a WHOLE nother story, knawmsayin?

  4. Yes, please explain deep fried Pepsi…I don’t get it. But the fair, looks awesome. We have the CNE here…similar…but I don’t think they have the brownies…I’d be so into that!

  5. I think I need a Tums. Right now.

So hilarious. You need to do a whole post on deep-fried pepsi because I’m another one who can’t even imagine what that’s like.

The last time I went to the Indiana State Fair was years ago when I lived in Bloomingulch, and the fair was about 117 degrees. I nearly died.

  6. Casey! Guess what? I’m about to check an experience off my life list this coming Tuesday night. Wanna know what?

So I went to the fair on Sat. and asked a funnel cake vendor if I could work a shift next week….and I’m doing it!

Now that’s hot. and stinky, and sweaty, and probably a little sticky too.

    WooHoo!

  7. Okay, I went to the County fair here last weekend and there was definitely NOT any deep-fried Pepsi! I feel so cheated! I guess that’s what I get for abandoning the Midwest for granola-crunchy Northern California!

Also, I’m with the group begging to please be enlightened on how deep-fried Pepsi works!

  8. Eww on the deep fried everything. Yay on the weather. I think Indiana might be teasing us though. 98 on Halloween or below zero by September could be in our future! Even so, these last few days have been so great. Being outside non-stop the last week before my daughter heads back to school is worth whatever may come.
