Hot: Day 6-Hot sit dance party.

Yes. Video has appeared with me shaking my can. BUT! Thankfully the cameras weren’t rolling when I busted loose to my all time favorite dance along song. You wanna see me do the sit dance in my car? Or your car? Or in the middle of the street? Or on the top level of Macy*s in the middle of San Francisco?

Turn on Christina Aguilera’s “Candyman” and watch my flubber fly. Go ahead, listen to it, see if you don’t do a little sit dance yourself.

So tell me. What is your sit dance song? I’m always looking for more to add to the “Hot Sit Dance Party” playlist on my iPod.

And if you want to see a bunch of ladies bust loose to Britney Spears (including me. *sigh*) Go here.

  1. LOL Rock on sistah-friend!

My dance song is currently Bleedin’ Love (saw it on So You Think You Can Dance), but an all timer has been Survivor by Christina Aguilera. Something about that chick just makes you wanna dance.

  2. hmmmm my all time favorite car dancing song (yes I too have a car dancing playlist) is “This Is Why I’m Hot” by Mims I personally like the reggae remix but the original is pretty great also… There is nothing to deep about the words “I’m hot ’cause I’m fly, you ain’t ’cause you not” yep it’s ridiculous and wonderful all at the same time! My husband won’t even allow me to listen to it when he’s in the car. He’s a hater!

  3. Nothing wrong with your dancing. Looks like it was fun.
I have a few dancing songs, but can never remember what they are called when I want. Does that mean I’m over 40 and my brain is going?…

  4. I CAN’T. SIT. STILL. if Jet’s “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” is playing. Also? “Bring In the Noise” by N Sync…embarassing dance-in-front-of-the-picture-window-while-neighbors-were-outside moment to that one…hooboy!

  5. I can only think of one thing (I am sure there are more:

The theme song to Alias. It totally made you dance. There was a hip shimmy, and some arm moves…you can even do it when laying on the floor watching.

  6. I love to swing dance! What a fun music video!

My sit dance songs are any big band songs (I can’t sit still when Swing plays.), “Crazy Beautiful” by Chasen, and most Stellar Kart songs.

  7. “Dancin’ Queen” by ABBA. My mom said this song was MY song when I was “young and sweet, only 17”! (I’ve actually MISSED being that…last nights “Dance Revolution” was so fun for me; I was on a HIGH after it was all over! 🙂

  8. Oh dear. There are too many to name. Seriously. I am the queen chair dancer, which is why I had to stop listening to music at work when I worked in an office. Awkward much?

Now that i work from home, though, i crank up the i-Tunes and dance around my office all I want.

I digging on Janet Jackson and some classic late 80s R&B like New Edition lately. But Candyman is definitely a rump shaker as is Get This Party STarted by Pink and just about anything by Fergie. I know, they’re horrible, but you try and not dance to them. You can’t do it.

p.s. I’m making that fettucine tonight. We’ll see if I can slide the peas past Hubbz.. shhh!

  9. Heh, well I work from home so I tend to get up out of my chair an dance a lot when the mood strikes from the mp3 player. A lot of what I listen to is not dance-able though–(weird mixture of metal and new age tends to grace my playlist)–unless you count head-banging or swaying as dancing, anyway.
HOWEVER, I do have some old favorites from back in the day when I listened to stuff that was more pop and hip hop, or a few that are just more dance-able in general:

“Cloud Connected” by In Flames (metal, but I think dance-able, particularly the remix)
“This is How We Do It” by Montel Jordan
    “Creep” by TLC
“None of your Business” by Salt n Pepa
“Talk Dirty to Me” by Poison
“Rock N Roll Junkie” by Motley Crue (although this is a song for strip tease dancing, I think)
“Goody Two Shoes” by Adam Ant
“Rock This Town” by the Brian Setzer Orchestra (or the Stray Cats, but same thing)

Not sure if ANY of this would be something you’d listen to, but it’s a weird mix of different genres and years of music 🙂

  10. I can’t believe I’m admitting this, but…Shake That by Eminem. I KNOW! I’m such a dork! I don’t even LIKE Eminem! I just have to dance when I hear that song!

  11. “Sunlight in a Jar” by The Lucksmiths. At first it doesn’t sound that dancey but then it just gets AMAZING. Almost anything by The Lucksmiths is great to listen to when you’re going out for the day and want to feel pumped. “Lose Control” by Missy Elliot is totally my workout jam, too.

I make mix CDs for a friend I see about once a year, and she lives in New York City so the goal is always finding music that would be really fun to walk to. I spend months on these mixes to get them just right and I’m really geekily proud of them, and I totally want to send you one now!

Also, THAT VIDEO IS SO CUTE!

  12. I have some that I will sing at the top of my lungs and dance to in the car – despite the 4 yo telling me to turn the music down, it’s hurting his ears.

    Love Fool – The Cardigans
Faith (or Freedom 90) – George Michael
    No Rain – Blind Melon

  13. After this former heavy metal singer admits he sit dances to ABBA you have to promise me you’ll add Ray Wylie Hubbard’s “Snake Farm” to your iPod. Then you can think of this good ol’ southern boy when you’re stuck in Indy traffic.

  14. Excellent choices in the previous comments! I loved reading the suggestions, because my I-Pod is in desperate need for an overhaul. And Mama has to have her music at the gym.

Just saw George Michael (whose voice is still awesome after these years) — so consider “Fast Love” & “Outside.” Look past the currently slightly freaky facial hair of late.

“Love & Memories” OAR from the Live from Madison Square Garden disc

“Would I Lie To You” – Eurythmics
    “Alright” – Janet Jackson
“Love at First Sight” – Kylie Minogue
    “Fine” – Mary J. Blige
“Just A Girl” – No Doubt
“Don’t Stand So Close to Me” -The Police (because any mix I make HAS to have something with Sting’s make-me-melt voice)
“Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” – Elton John featuring Anastacia

Now I’m giggling, ’cause if this were a part of my personal soundtrack, I’m not sure what that says about me…haha

  15. Not that a lot of songs won’t induce car dancing, but the one that I heard recently that caused me to make other drivers stare on the highway was “Talk dirty to me” by Poison. Hadn’t heard it in about 10 years and forgot how fun it was.

BTW, nice rump-shaking, my friend! Sooo looking forward to ’09 already.

  16. You ROCK! Love the video. And look at all your cameos, girl!

Um…”Toxic” is one of my favorite dance songs EVER. Well, I love to dance to anything by Britney, pretty much.

It MIGHT have been okay to drive down the street, speakers blaring, listening to Britney Spears at age 18. But age 28? Hmmm. Jury is still out. But I do turn it down at stoplights.
