A Braquiry for Braformation. AKA the Front Hooker Slide.

If you’ve been around a while then you’ll know I met Cody whilst a manager of Frederick’s of Hollywood.

Who wouldn’t want to marry that right?

Anyway. With all the bra fitting and bra talking and bra this bra that I learned something about us wimminz. Something to bring up at your next playgroup. Because I promise there will be some funny looks after you pose this one question.

“How do you put on your bra?”

Are you a front hooker slider or a back hooker?

Go forth, discuss. Let me know how it goes.

(I’m a back hooker personally. I believe myself to be the minority.)

  1. I’m an upside-down front hooker too. Except for one fancy Marlies Dekkers bra that has all these straps on it. That I have to back-hook.

  2. I have never, in my whole entire life, hooked a bra from the front. I have always hooked it in the back, from the day I started wearing one in the 4th grade. My mom hooks it that way too. And she can unhook her bra in the back with one hand. That I consider talented!

  3. I hook in the back. Then I stick arms in (maybe they are already in but I have no idea, its how my mom did it, no wait she did the front slider thing, but that eventually got old) and then flop up the girls to make sure they’re “totally” in.

  4. Front hook slide. I don’t even know how to do it the other way. Now I have mostly front hook bras though so that eliminates the problem. I also have a bunch of summer tops that don’t require a bra which speaks volumes to the size of my tatas.

  5. front hook slide – I am nowhere near coordinated enough to do it the other way. But, it’s important to have goals, and that is one of mine 🙂

  6. ok, WELL, I am a DDD and I have the thing pre-hooked up and I put it on over my head and then down over my girth and then into place and then I scoop my boobs to make sure they are in place.
scooping your boobs means you reach into your bra cup from the top and pull your boob into place.
A Friend told me the “right” way is to bend over and shake the girls into place. Whatever, I do it my way.

  7. Back Hooker isn’t just for small girls, you know. I’m a 32G/34F (depending on brand–*love* Frederick’s bras, Casey) and my dance may be silly but it’s the fastest and easiest way to get everything sitting comfortably.

  8. I’m a back hooker. I can’t imagine why anyone would go to all the trouble of hooking it and sliding it around. You have to reach back to unhook it, right? Who can’t reach their back?

  10. front-hook-slide, scoop.
I didn’t realize how prevalent the back-hook is. I wonder if I never tried because I’m like a t-rex with giant boobs. You know, short arms. but they’re fleixble. I’m trying the back hook. I want to be a back-hooker, too!

  11. SHOCKING! I have no sisters and not the kinda relationship with my mom where bras are fair game for conversating so I had no idea there was variation on this! I am a front hooker, slide around to the back. I also think I tried the back hook thing and found it too hard… how do you gals line it all up and know you got the second hook in the second eye, and not the first eye???

  12. OK, way too many comments to read them all right now, but I didn’t realize that there were so many people that operated like this. I guess I’m a back-hooker. I can’t imagine hooking it in front, then having to slide it around. Seems odd to me. It’s not that hard to reach behind and hook it. Then I’m the person who only uses 1 hand to put on deodorant. I’ve always done it that way, and I didn’t realize it was odd until I was in the locker rooms in high school.
