(Okay, so technically now it’s my 26th birthday, the 28th. But since I was born at 12:21 am I didn’t want to miss a moment of my own party, even while I slept. As you were.)
Birthdays are a really big deal to me.

Didn’t think so.
For some reason nobody really wants to attempt making my birthday cake. It’s cool. I was planning on having a huge pile of donuts anyway. I may even stick candles in them.
But you know what I really want for my birthday? A comment cake. Layers and layers of comments from you. I want you to tell me the best thing that happened to you in the last week. Anything, everything. The best. I love it when you guys do that. It makes me happy. And I want to be happy on my birthday. So you know what to do.

The best thing that happened to me in the last week was losing 4.6 lbs on weight watchers and joining the gym.

The VERY best thing that happened to me this week can’t be announced for a few more weeks (he he he). . . but the second best thing was eating 3 pieces of my own birthday cake yesterday (chocolate caramel turtle cheesecake). Back on the diet again today . . .

I will make you a cake. The classic birthday cake in our family is called rainbow cake. It’s actually chocolate with different colored/flavored frosting layers. Next time I’m in Indy on 28 April.

Best thing to happen to me this week? I watched my one year old chewing. It’s funny. I gave him french toast, sans syrup of course.

In the last week I have found the home of my dreams, in the same town i grew up in, that I have not lived in for over 15 years. All of my family, grandparents, sisters, brothers and nieces live there.
Today, on your birthday, I expect to receive the job offer that will get me the financing that will allow me and my fiance to get the home of my dreams and begin our life together!
Happy birthday. April 28th will be a special day for me for years to come!!

The best thing that happened to me this week was waiting in the taco bell drive thru with my hubby. We were just waiting and then Miley Cyrus came on. He rolled up the window and blasted it and started rocking out. We have reached the totally comfortable point in the marriage when a 25 year old man can do that 🙂

Best thing that happened to me last week, the house inspection on our new place went smoothly! No major problems. Also, I found out I don’t have to go to a conference the week before moving day. Awesome. Expect, I was kind of hoping I would come home to a completely packed and ready to move house.

The best thing last week was the morning that my hubby, for the first time ever, came to me (frazzled with getting kids out the door) and said “What can I do to help this morning?” Whatever self-help book he must be covertly reading gets an A. And my birthday was last week, which was great due to good friends bringing good wine and snacks, but still — that moment topped it.

Oh – forgot to mention my happy time last week – we went to DC for two days – saw the new Washington Nationals Ballpark (heaven on earth for us) and spent Friday at the Baltimore Aquarium. Two VERY good days:)

😉 I can’t tell the whole world until I tell my parents …. shhhhhh …. but my bathroom counter is littered with sticks covered in pee which are all screaming whoopie ~ and I’ve never been this excited about having New Year’s Eve plans … 🙂

Casey, Happy Birthday! I hope you and the moosh have a wonderful day together today. To answer your question, the best thing that happened to me this week was that Jeff and I didn’t go a single place this entire weekend and I didn’t even change out of my comfy clothes or put a bra on or fix my hair or think about makeup. We slept in, watched tv, caught up on some of our NetFlix films, cooked dinner, drank wine, and it was perfection.
Although I have to say that right now, this moment, is pretty good too because all of these comments prove to you that I was right— you are a big deal blogger. Enjoy it!

Happy (belated) Birthday… and I feel your pain in the cake department. But usually mine is associated with picture taking, “But who is going to take MY picture?!” … I’m the photog.. the one with the camera in everyone’s face, making sure not amoment goes by that isn’t captured. Recording their vacations on CF cards … but when it comes to me… I’m no where to be found in our photo albums.. unless it is an awkward selfie shot.

It’s also my Brother in Law’s birthday, and my cat’s. Tomorrow is my half-nephew’s and Wednesday is my Sister in Law’s and my BF’s son’s. Mine was a few weeks ago – isn’t April a great time to have a birthday?
Anyway, I had two great things happen last week. I didn’t go into premature labor, and I found someone to watch after our son for when I do go into labor. Yippee! It was really stressing me, I’m so glad I don’t have that to worry about now.

Today is my dad’s birthday too. Ironically, he is 62 (opposite of 26…) See what crazy things I notice. Anyway, the best thing that happened last week was that my 17 year old daughter broke up with a horrible, wrong guy for her, but could do no wrong…because he had another girlfriend…Yippee, thank you God for hearing and answering prayer.
