Hi. It’s my 26th birthday.

(Okay, so technically now it’s my 26th birthday, the 28th. But since I was born at 12:21 am I didn’t want to miss a moment of my own party, even while I slept. As you were.)

Birthdays are a really big deal to me.

Anybody want to make me my birthday cake?

Anyone?

No?

Really?

Didn’t think so.

For some reason nobody really wants to attempt making my birthday cake. It’s cool. I was planning on having a huge pile of donuts anyway. I may even stick candles in them.

But you know what I really want for my birthday? A comment cake. Layers and layers of comments from you. I want you to tell me the best thing that happened to you in the last week. Anything, everything. The best. I love it when you guys do that. It makes me happy. And I want to be happy on my birthday. So you know what to do.

Delurk you lurkers, save yourself a phone call IRL friends, let’s party. (Oh, and wish her a Happy Birthday too.)

Make this the best comment cake ever so that I don’t have to eat all those donuts, because you know I will.

    The best thing that happened to me this week actually happened today–we were given the assignment of being tour guides for the Twin Falls temple open house this summer! So that’s pretty exciting.

    The best thing that happened to me this week is I found out that my pretty car is getting a brand new transmission (whatever THAT is :)) and I don’t have to pay for it!

  9. Happy birthday!! Definitely, birthdays are a huge deal to me too, I wish you had a cake! You gotta have a cake! (but donuts are pretty good too)

    Best thing this week? Hmm. Well it sure wasn’t all the earthquakes or the waking up at 3am last night for the day. I guess because of the latter I’m having a hard time thinking of anything. But I’m sure there was SOMETHING. 🙂

    best thing for me this week? I got to have an emotional meltdown times a million, but was picked right up again by family and friends. OH, my kids came home safe and sound after a weekend at daddy’s. return home hugs are great!

  12. Happy Birthday! Two good things happened to me that I can think of. I got an unexpected check in the mail for over $300 from my mortgage company for overpayment of escrow. AND I found a volunteer opportunity at the local animal shelter that I can do with my daughter. I can pet all the kitties I want to, teach my daughter about service, and spend quality time with her all at once.

  13. Best part of this week? Going to dinner at some friends house tonight and just all sitting around and chatting.

    Also, two cockroaches in our house tonight and my husband dealt with both of them.

    The best thing thats happened to me this week starts to tomorrow..a new job but at the same work place. I’m super excited though.

    The best thing that happened to me was I wrote three essays in one day. Which does not sound so awesome now I think about it, but the point is they are DONE!

    Oh and I went on a clothes shopping spending spree!

  24. Happy Birthday! Mmmm…. donuts.

    The best thing that happened to me this week was spending several hours sans husband or kid in Seattle yesterday afternoon, wandering in the sun, hanging out at Elliot Bay Books and meeting Rebecca Woolf of Girl’s Gone Child at her reading there. Then having a sleepover at my best friend’s house, watching Battlestar Galactica and staying up late. Yay!

    I’m sure insecurity is the driving force behind the non-cake-making. Tasting one of my cakes isn’t even as good as LOOKING at one of yours!

    The best thing that happened to me this week: Forcast for today was rain/SNOW mix and 40 some degrees. Saving babies isn’t very fun in the rain. Lots of prayers and we had a sunny – even slightly warm walk. Er, march. The snow held off until we left.

    I think it’s pretty cool that you saved babies on your birthday! Thanks so much, Casey! I hope you had a WONDERFUL day today.

  35. Happy, happy birthday!

    The best thing that happened to me this week was seeing my youngest son’s midterm grades – all As and Bs! He’s been on ADHD meds for a little over a month and he’s doing SO much better. His grades used to be Cs and Ds and he felt so awful because he was trying his best. I’m just amazed and he feels so much better about himself!

    The best that happened to me this week…my parents gave us their old 42″ TV and we love it, even if it weighs over 300 pounds and took 4 people to get it in my house!

  37. Happy Birthday you old woman, you! And here I thought somehow you were older than me… I’m 28 already (how did that happen?).

    The best thing for me this week was I got to clean my entire house yesterday while the hubby corralled the baby. I know, I know, that’s a pretty sad best, but it was the best I could come up with when I was sick most of the week! But the weather was great so I even go to open all the windows and now I feel like I have a CLEAN house!

    Best thing that happened to me this week was my girls. I was feeling particularly down with being sick and all and they gave me lots of loves, kisses, laughs, and cuddle time! OOooo! AND my hubby gave me a pedicure. Really needed one!

    Best thing? I made my daughter a softie “monster” today and she loves it so much she took it to bed with her tonight. She fell asleep hugging it, and she loves it because I, her mama, made it for her.

  48. Happy Birthday! Oh my God you look fabulous! Have you lost weight? Your hair looks great. I wasn’t sure what kind of birthday cake to make for you so I made 7. When should I come over? As for the best thing that happened to me this week…well I didn’t die. I thought I had the plague, or maybe meningitis, or you know, like a cold or something, but I’m feeling better now.
