I can’t believe I spent so many years driving alone in the car with just Addie. She must have been so bored back there for the first seven years of her life. (I’d say six and half but Vivi didn’t get interesting back there until recently and let’s be honest, little babies in the backContinue reading “backseat sisters.”

ten vivi tidbits, two vivi thighs.
10. Now that Vivi can walk she spends her afternoons wandering aimlessly around the lower level of our house. Sometimes she carries stuff around with her while other times she sings as she meanders. I’m curious what her new interest will be once walking around in pointless circles gets boring. 9. Vivi watches Addie forContinue reading “ten vivi tidbits, two vivi thighs.”
pretty party animals.
On Friday night I went to the Indianapolis Zoo’s annual black tie fundraiser, Zoobilation. I had it on my “Indy Bucket List” of things I wanted to do before I left (I’m not going anywhere anytime soon by the way) and it is now checked off. I was invited to be part of the twitterContinue reading “pretty party animals.”
this one has a photo of Vivi’s thighs so it must be good.
Whoa, it’s kind of been sponsored post whoop-tee-doo up in here for the last little while. Sorry about that. This transition into summer has been really weird and as usual it seems that when opportunities come, they come all at once only you don’t realize it until you’re sitting down recognizing that this strange feelingContinue reading “this one has a photo of Vivi’s thighs so it must be good.”
on giving back, sharing mom and loving unconditionally.
Last Thursday night on the way home from shopping she finally said it. “I wish we could give Vivi back.” The left half of me shriveled with sadness while the right half of me shrugged and thought “Can’t blame you, kid.” Addie and I were an inseparable team before Vivi came along, she had meContinue reading “on giving back, sharing mom and loving unconditionally.”
Sonos: or how to give your entire life a running soundtrack. (sponsored)
Last night I was staying up WAY TOO LATE working on compiling Vivi’s first year in a photo book. 546 photos. You can’t really comprehend how many photos 546 is until you’re trying to fit them all into a book where you’re charged by page. (Currently on page 105. Hold me.) Suddenly a Barry WhiteContinue reading “Sonos: or how to give your entire life a running soundtrack. (sponsored)”
scaling back and suiting up. (sponsored by hallmark.)
“It’s only been a week. I could have sworn she’s been out of school for at least three.” Cody gave me a look of concern and we discussed ways to make it to August in one functioning family unit. A lot has changed since last summer. I essentially work 20-30 hours a week, Vivi isContinue reading “scaling back and suiting up. (sponsored by hallmark.)”
dancing, andretti and the greatest specatacle in racing (again)
Last year I found out that my friend Heather had “attend the Indy 500” on her 40 x 40 list. I remember looking at her and saying “I’ll get you there, I know people.” I have a feeling she dismissed my claim in her head thinking “Yeah, of course you’ll get me to the IndyContinue reading “dancing, andretti and the greatest specatacle in racing (again)”
big babble, baby babble and my headline news mullet.
Baby Babble: Need a good baby shower gift or ideas for your registry? Here’s 17 items we totally used during Vivi’s first year (and some we’ll be using for a lot longer.) Hey, want to see some cute baby pictures? Specifically of my baby? Well here you go! (See also: Gosh, I sure do likeContinue reading “big babble, baby babble and my headline news mullet.”
changing of the almost everything.
When I make Vivi and Addie’s beds I put a waterproof mattress cover on, a fitted sheet, then another waterproof mattress cover, and then another fitted sheet. That way if any bodily fluids go leak in the night I’m not stripping and making a tiny bed in the wee hours of the morning. I kindContinue reading “changing of the almost everything.”
