La Jolly. (or La Jolla, whatever.)

suck? no.
tiny.
flow.
seashell.
reflection.
solace.
shadow.
palm.
sunset.
jump.

Some of these are by tiny grandma (the little tiny thing on the cliff). Some of these are by me (the slightly larger thing on the shore).

I figure we have the same camera and the same genes.

We can share the credit.

One thing I know for sure?

It totally doesn’t suck here.

  2. La “hoya”. :}

    My undergraduate philosophy department, on the top two floors of the tallest building on UCSD’s campus, has a lounge with large windows overlooking the cliffs and the ocean in La Jolla.

    That’s where I did just about all of my work as an undergraduate. I liked to be able to look up from 400 year old thoughts to see the ocean making me feel small.

    It was also nice to be able to sneak away from campus to lay out on the beach in the afternoon when early summer rolled around.

    My undergrad career did not suck :}

  3. Gorgeous. I love wild places and it def. looks wild there. The moosh is doing to really appreciate having such a talented mommy photographer when she grows up. No naked bathtub photos for her baby book!

    BTW regarding the BlogHer comment, you totally deserve to speak there. Everything you went through having the moosh and the fact that you keep your blog so eloquent and fresh while still blogging about kids (sometimes) is pretty darn cool.

  4. I was born in California (somewhere much less pretty, north of there…Bakersfield) but La Jolla will always be one of my favorite vacation destinations.

    Don’t you love how it’s 75-85 degrees? IT WILL BE LIKE THAT ALL YEAR. It’s like God likes it better there too.

    Now go eat at an In-and-Out and then help me explain to everyone why it is superior to every other burger place out there. Because no one is listening to me.

  5. Gorgeous as always, Casey. I love the vibrancy of these pictures – they almost look like you shopped the color in, but not because it looks real. Haha – and I absolutely love the moosh photos – especially the shadow one – it speaks so many words for such a simple picture.
